Basic Elements for use on Static Websites
Section titled “Basic Elements for use on Static Websites”Anything you see on a typical website, can be added into a basic static website. These include:
- images
- YouTube videos (or any other platform videos for that matter)
- External Links to other websites
- Emojis (particularly if you use Obsidian’s mobile app where emojis are supported)
- Hero Images (though not supported under Retype)
- Card objects (as per this sites landing page)
Commenting System
Section titled “Commenting System”A Commenting system be integrated with GitHub’s Discussion platform. This is very easy to set up adding it via the GitHub repository, though the Static Site Generator used (like Vercel, Netlify etc) would need to be accommodated for it.
Theme Switcher
Section titled “Theme Switcher”All SSG sites that I build (Flowershow, Retype and Astro) automatically contain a dark/light theme switcher. The Switcher Icon can be found on the top menu bar (right side).
Note: if viewing an Astro published website on mobile, the Theme Switcher is located in the hamburger menu at the bottom.
