# DokuWiki Exploring New Tech

_I'm like a kid in a candy store, seeing all the new developments happening on the technology front. And so it is with this platform DokuWiki._

It's not new, but boy does it pack some punches among its feature set, which saw a major upgrade in July 2020. DokuWiki has been around for a while and has gradually built up a following among its user base. Many of the bells and whistles have been adapted from other wiki platforms over the years and integrated into a single online solution.

Rather than work with a turnkey content management system where everything is laid out for you - even a whole bunch of unnecessary stuff, with DokuWiki you can basically hard code it to exactly how you want it to appear. And once you know the code and the way to structure it, over time it becomes second nature.

Some of you will know me from my work putting together the GloryDazeMusic website. That website also includes a DokuWiki instance, plus the overall site has also undergone significant change over the years and that's because the technology moves on, we can't sit still or jump up and down on the same spot year after year otherwise we'll get left behind.

My online presence here is less about music and more about other personal interests that go on in my life. Everything from tech, health (a biggie for me at the moment), sports and entertainment, among other things.
